Angelina Jolie did not knew she would have kids

Angelina Jolie did not knew she would have kids. The 38 year old actress has six kids now. Starting with Maddox who is 12 now. Then comes Pax who is 10 years old. Then they have  Zahara and she is 9 years old. Then comes Shiloh, 7, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 5, with her fiancĂ© Brad Pitt. But still she admits she ruled out having a family of her own when she was younger because she thought it was just a fantasy. Hence its not a coincidence when we all found out that Angelina Jolie did not knew she would have kids.

She was speaking in the June issue of ELLE magazine, where she said: ‘I never thought I’d have children, I never thought I’d be in love, I never thought I’d meet the right person. In fact, it would be fair to assume that Angelina Jolie did not knew she would have kids.

‘Having come from a broken home and a shattered family. You kind of accept that certain things feel like a fairy tale, and you just don’t look for them.’

The ‘Unbroken’ director has been dating Brad Pitt, 50. She met him on the set of ‘Mr Mrs Smith’. And since that April 2005, she still loves him like crazy. She believes they’ve grown stronger as a couple as the years have gone on.

She explained: ‘You get together and you’re two individuals and you feel inspired by each other, you challenge each other, you complement each other, drive each other beautifully crazy.

‘After all these years, we have history, and when you have history with somebody, you’re friends in such a very real, deep way that there’s such a comfort, and an ease, and a deep love that comes from having been through quite a lot together.’

Advanced Breast Cancer Care

When Breast Cancer Spreads

Good Healthy World brings to you Advanced Breast Cancer Care afer through research. If your cancer spreads beyond your breast and the nearby lymph nodes, it’s called advanced cancer, or metastatic cancer. The most common places it spreads to are the liver, lungs, bones, and brain. This is why this post is about Advanced Breast Cancer Care.

News that your cancer has spread is scary, but there are many treatments that work for metastatic breast cancer. This is true that with Advanced Breast Cancer Care, you can manage your health and condition much better.

“The majority of women with metastatic breast cancer can move forward with their therapies while continuing their regular lifestyle — working, taking care of their families, exercising, and traveling,” says Erica L. Mayer, MD, MPH, of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

“We often think of metastatic breast cancer as a chronic disease, like diabetes,” says Mayer.

A Different Treatment Schedule

Treatments for advanced breast cancer may go on without an end date, to keep the cancer under control. You’ll visit the clinic on a regular basis and you’ll get to know the health care team.

“If the treatment works, you’ll stay on it as long as it’s working well without side effects,” says Rita Nanda, MD, of the University of Chicago’s breast cancer program. If not, your doctor will try different treatments.

Your doctor is likely to suggest chemotherapy because it travels through your entire body. “Metastatic breast cancer is a whole-body disease,” Mayer says.

You may also need hormone therapy. Targeted drugs are another option. They work directly on the changes within cancer cells. These combinations can make chemotherapy work better.

Sometimes surgery or radiation can help ease symptoms.

Regular Tests keep tabs on your Cancer which is a good part of Advanced Breast Cancer Care

Occasionally, you’ll have imaging tests to see how treatments are working and whether the cancer has spread. Common imaging tests include:

CT scans, where an X-ray machine circles around as you lie on a table. Bone scans with an injection that helps show areas with cancer (scintigraphy). PET scans with a special camera and a tracer chemical that goes in your arm by IV.

“CT scans examine the chest and abdomen,” says Richard J. Bleicher, MD, of the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. “You can see something on organs like the liver or sometimes the bones.” Sometimes results are combined for a PET CT scan. A computer merges the images to find hot spots that may be cancer. Your doctor will tell you how often you need these tests, based on the stage of your cancer.

So, if you keep up with the points mentioned for Advanced Breast Cancer Care, you can safely& surely do yourself a good favor.

Angelina Jolie will have more Cancer Prevention Surgery

It is now official that Angelina Jolie will have more Cancer Prevention Surgery. Angelina Jolie made headlines last May when she revealed that she had a preventative double mastectomy. This is because she carries a genetic mutation. This mutation puts her risk of developing breast cancer. Now, the 38-year-old actress says she will have another surgery to lower her cancer risk. So, it is now safe to assume that Angelina Jolie will have more Cancer Prevention Surgery very soon.

In her New York Times op-ed last year, Jolie said she has the faulty BRCA1 gene. This gene dramatically increases a woman’s risk of both breast cancer and ovarian cancer. In addition, her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died from ovarian cancer at age 56. “My doctors estimated that I had an 87% risk of breast cancer and a 50% risk of ovarian cancer, although the risk is different in the case of each woman,” Jolie wrote while confirming news that Angelina Jolie will have more Cancer Prevention Surgery.

Later in the column, titled “My Medical Choice,” she said “Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could.” She said she “started with the breasts” since her breast cancer risk was higher, opting to have a double mastectomy (and, later, breast reconstruction) which lowered her risk of developing breast cancer to less than 5%.

One day after the op-ed was published, it was reported that Jolie would also have surgery to remove her ovaries. (The operation, known as an oophorectomy, can reduce the risk of ovarian cancer in women with the BRCA1 gene by 80%, according to a recent study.) In an exclusive new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jolie confirmed that she will undergo more cancer-preventing surgery, but she stopped short of naming the procedure. “There’s still another surgery to have, which I haven’t yet,” she said.

Jolie also told EW that she was touched by the reaction to her column: “The reason that I wrote it was to try to communicate and help and connect with other women and other families going through the same thing. And…I was very, very moved by all the support and kindness from so many people.”

Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Breast Cancer Diagnosis & Tests

Early detection can be a big plus in treating breast cancer. Learn about breast cancer tests and diagnosis. Due for a mammogram? Please make your appointment now.

Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Breast Cancer Detection

The earlier breast cancer is detected, the better it may be for the patient’s long-term health. Get a brief overview of the tests that can help detect breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Screening: What Kind and When?

For women at normal risk of breast cancer, self-exams, clinical exams, and mammography starting at 40 may screen for breast cancer. Abnormal results or high-risk women may need earlier screening or additional tests. Read more.

Breast Cancer Tests

Breast Self-Exam

Do you do regular breast self-exams? While some cancers are too tiny to feel, and most lumps aren’t cancer, self-exams are a proactive way to help take care of yourself. Learn how.

Clinical Breast Exam

A clinical breast exam is a breast exam performed by a health care professional. It’s a basic part of women’s check-ups, starting at age 20.

Mammogram

A mammogram is a special type of X-ray taken to look for abnormal growths or changes in breast tissue. It’s a key tool in breast cancer detection, though no test is perfect.

Understanding the Mammogram Results

Most abnormal mammogram results aren’t breast cancer. But more testing is needed to make sure. The bottom line: Don’t panic, but do get the follow-up tests.

Surviving Mammography

Do you find mammograms uncomfortable? Don’t skip the test; just learn how to handle it better.

Breast Ultrasound

Doctors sometimes use ultrasound images to check whether a breast lump is a cyst (a fluid-filled sac that is not cancer) or a solid mass. One of the common ways for breast cancer diagnosis.

Breast MRI

Another method routinely used for breast cancer diagnosis is MRI. MRI stands for magnetic resonance imaging. MRI is used to help detect breast cancer.

Breast Biopsy

When doctors perform a biopsy, they remove cells from a suspicious mass to see if it’s cancer.

Minimally Invasive Breast Biopsy

This type of breast biopsy generally uses a needle, not surgery.

Sentinel Node Biopsy

Another effective way for breast cancer diagnosis is sentinel node biopsy. In a sentinel node biopsy, doctors check a few lymph nodes under the arm to see if cancer has spread into the lymph system.

Ductal Lavage

Ductal lavage checks cells from the milk ducts for precancerous cells.

Now, don’t forget to share it to your friends and family. And remember, you found all about this at Good Healthy World.

Chronic Sinus Problems Are Linked to Depression

Your sinus health and your mental health are intertwined.

A stuffy nose that lasts for months is enough to get anyone a little down. Still, it’s surprising to discover that depression affects as many as one fourth of people with chronic sinusitis long-lasting inflammation of the sinuses. That’s a lot of distress for an illness that many people consider a minor nuisance rather than a major threat.

What’s the connection between your sinus health and your mental health? Here’s what recent research shows on sinus problems .

Sinus Problems Get You Down

Sinus Problems Get You Down image Sinus Problems Get You Down

Many sinusitis sufferers will tell you that it’s not such a minor blip after all. Chronic sinusitis may cause long-term nasal stuffiness, thick nasal discharge, a reduced sense of smell, and a feeling of pain or pressure around the eyes, nose, or forehead. Other possible symptoms include post nasal drip, coughing at night, ear fullness, jaw aches, sore throat, bad breath, and tiredness all are sinus problems.

Together, these symptoms may trigger or worsen depression in several ways in sinus problems :

  1. As the weeks drag on, the discomfort may take a toll. If you’re prone to depression, the added stress may make it worse.

  2. Many people with chronic sinusitis have allergies. Studies show that allergies and depression may be linked, most likely through inflammation-promoting immune substances that are released during an allergy attack.

  3. Sleep problems are common in people with chronic sinusitis, and lack of good-quality sleep may further wreck your mood.

Depression Is a Pain in the Sinus

Depression Is a Pain in the Sinus image Depression Is a Pain in the Sinus

Once you’re depressed, everything in your life may seem bleaker and harder to manage and that includes your sinus symptoms. Studies have shown that depression may amplify  related to sinus  problems in a number of ways:

  1. People with chronic sinusitis who are depressed report having worse sinus pain than those who aren’t depressed. They also say they have less energy and more trouble with daily activities classic symptoms of depression all because of sinus problems, its really hard to manage.

  2. In people with chronic sinusitis, depression is associated with more missed workdays, increased antibiotic use, and more doctor visits.

  3. In chronic sinusitis patients, scores on depression and anxiety scales are strongly associated with scores on the aptly named SNOT-22—a questionnaire that includes both disease specific questions and general quality of-life questions.

When you have both chronic sinusitis and full-blown depression in sinus problems , each can fuel the other, making the symptoms worse. So treating just one condition or the other may not bring complete relief. To feel your best, you may need to seek professional diagnosis and treatment for both conditions.
